Leaker details why the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will have a notch
The notch may be commonplace in smartphones, but companies have yet to adopt it en-masse when designing tablets. Based on recent leaked renders, Samsung is to integrate a notch within the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, its presumed flagship tablet for 2022.
As @OnLeaks' renders show, the notch cut into the tablet's display along one of its long edges, indicating that Samsung intends people to use it in landscape mode. While @OnLeaks believed that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra would have a single front-facing camera, @UniverseIce believes otherwise. The tablet is expected to have dual rear-facing cameras too, for reference.
According to @UniverseIce, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra's notch is not as large as those in the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16. Additionally, the leaker claims that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will feature two front-facing cameras, rather than the one that Apple's new MacBook Pros have. Reputedly, one of these cameras will be an ultra-wide-angle sensor, while at least one of them will be capable of recording videos in 4K at 60 FPS.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is thought to have a 14.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Benchmark results have indicated that Samsung will equip the tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC as well, along with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
