We previously reported that the Galaxy A13 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and will be Samsung’s entry-level 5G phone. Now, more details about the phone have emerged thanks to the smartphone’s official user manual. The report comes to us via SamMobile.
According to the user manual, the Galaxy A13 5G will rock three cameras on the back, a 50 MP primary supported by a 5MP macro cam, a 2 MP depth shooter, and an LED flash. There will also be an increasingly-rare standard headphone jack. Other specs include a USB-C port with support for 25W fast charging, a 5000 mAh battery, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone will also be dual-sim capable and have Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. All is well and good except for one thing: the Galaxy A13 5G will reportedly be running One UI 3 based on Android 11.
If Samsung launches the Galaxy A13 5G with Android 11 in 2022, that will be disappointing since by that time the phone will already be outdated software-wise. The company is already rolling out One UI 4.0 with Android 12 in tow to some of its phones. In an age where Samsung's biggest rival, Apple, keeps its phones updated for years on end, it will be discouraging to see the Galaxy A13 5G not run the latest iteration of Android, even though it is an entry-level device.
