Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra: Leaker points to Galaxy Unpacked and release dates for 'limited quantity' flagship tablet
Plenty is already known about the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, one-third of the Galaxy Tab S8 series. @OnLeaks has published several CAD renders of the tablet, for example, while a prototype has appeared on Geekbench with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC and 8 GB of RAM. Additionally, @UniverseIce has explained why the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has a notch, the only Galaxy Tab S8 series tablet with one.
Reputedly, Samsung hopes to announce the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January, possibly between the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S22 series. Purportedly, the large tablet will arrive in February but in limited quantities. Samsung will release the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra in one colour option, which is considered Dark Grey.
While some people have speculated Samsung is responding to the tablet's expected popularity, @FrontTron has other ideas. Writing on Twitter, they explain that Samsung has experienced low yields of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra's display, rumoured to be a 14.6-inch AMOLED panel that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is also believed to feature four cameras, 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Currently, it is unclear how much the tablet will cost, although we would not be surprised if it was as expensive as the iPad Pro 12.9.
