Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S22 Plus in early February, with the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Ultra joining it at a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 8. The trio are thought to launch with Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898 SoCs, depending on where you live, following in the footsteps of all Galaxy S handsets from the Galaxy S5 onwards.
Typically, Samsung releases Qualcomm Snapdragon versions of Galaxy S smartphones to the US, which Geekbench seemingly confirms will be the case with the Galaxy S22 Plus. As the screenshots below show, someone has benchmarked the SM-S906U using the popular benchmarking tool; SM-S906U is believed to be the Galaxy S22 Plus' model number.
While Geekbench does not state what SoC powers the SM-S906U, its motherboard name, 'taro', and cluster configuration match with other Snapdragon 898 leaks. The benchmarking tool also reports that 'taro' has an Adreno 730 GPU, another hint that the SM-S906U contains the Snapdragon 898.
In September, the Galaxy S22 Plus appeared on Geekbench with an Exynos 2200. However, it is unclear which regions will receive which SoC. According to recent rumours, Samsung may only release Exynos models in Europe and Russia, with the Snapdragon 898 serving all other regions.
