Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic gain Samsung Health improvements with their latest updates
Samsung has started rolling out another update to the Galaxy Watch4 series, following February's botched major upgrade. While R8xxXXU1EVB4 addressed issues that R8xxXXU1EVA8 introduced, R8xxXXU1FVC8 contains only a few changes.
Specifically, Samsung claims to have enhanced its Health app. However, its patch notes do not elaborate on what changes it has made from R8xxXXU1EVB4, nor has 9to5Google been able to find any. Additionally, this month's update brings the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic onto the March 2021 security patch. For reference, Samsung updates security patches every two months, even though Google issues monthly patch updates.
According to 9to5Google, R8xxXXU1FVC8 is downloadable now on the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic in the US. Typically, Samsung stages its software update rollouts, which may explain why European models have not received R8xxXXU1FVC8 yet.
Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when the long-rumoured next-generation Google Assistant or YouTube Music apps will be ready for the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Presumably, Samsung will only roll these out once Google has announced them as part of stock Wear OS 3, which is now rumoured to be arriving next month at Google I/O 2022.
