The Xiaomi 11T Pro, 11T, and 11 Lite 5G NE are listed for just two major OS updates on Xiaomi's website
Last year, at the Xiaomi 11T series launch, the company announced that it would be sending out three major OS updates to the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, with four years of support in total. The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE got a similar promise. Six months after, the company may be having other ideas.
As pointed out by leaker Abhishek Yadav, Xiaomi's website paints an entirely different image of the company's update policy for the Xiaomi 11T, 11T Pro, and 11 Lite 5G NE. The duo debuted running Android 11, and would normally be expected to receive Android 12, Android 13, and Android 14. For some reason, though, Xiaomi's own website lists the phones as eligible for just Android 12 and Android 13. Two OS updates, in other words.
Could it be an error? Perhaps, but both phones are also listed with four years of support—up to August 2025—just as Xiaomi promised. The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, however, is listed with just three years of support in total, when it should be eligible for four—like the Xiaomi 11T series.
All considered, the page is likely just filled with inaccuracies. The Mi 11 Ultra, for example, is listed as only eligible for Android 12—which would be scandalous. We expect Xiaomi to clear this up soon anyway, as the company still markets all three devices with the promise of three OS updates and four years of security updates.
