Xiaomi has released V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM to the Mi A3, a European build that contains the January 2021 security patch. The 12 MB update will arrive as an OTA on eligible devices, but recovery and fastboot zip files are also available.

Xiaomi has issued a new update to Mi A3 handsets purchased in Europe. Seemingly, V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM is a comparable update to V12.0.18.0.RFQMIXM, which Xiaomi released to MIUI's global branch in mid-January. According to Xiaomi's changelog, V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM optimises system performance and improves 'system security and stability'.

Hence, V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM contains the January 2021 security patch, among other minor changes. While Xiaomi does not disclose what security improvements V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM makes, Google publishes all the security vulnerabilities the January 2021 security patch addresses. You can read what Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) Google has fixed in its corresponding Android Security Bulletin.

However, Xiaomi has not included any feature updates within V12.0.16.0.RFQEUXM. Typically, Xiaomi takes a few days to bring updates to all eligible devices. If your device has yet to receive a notification to download the over-the-air (OTA) update, you can download the 12 MB file via the link below. Alternatively, you can start afresh with the recovery or fastboot zip files, links to which we have also provided.
