Xiaomi begun the MIUI 13 rollout a while ago. The company has sent out early Mi Pilot builds to devices like the Redmi Note 10 series, Redmi 10, and Xiaomi 11 Lite globally. It now plans to bring MIUI 13 and Android 12 to its new tablets in the Mi Pad 5 series.
In a MIUI update memo, Xiaomi announced that it would be halting the internal beta release for the Mi Pad 5, Mi Pad 5 Pro, and Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G due to Android 12 development for the devices. The company typically releases MIUI 13 alongside Android 12, so that should be the case as well for those three devices.
We have to point out that the devices in question here are the Chinese models, as the Mi Pad 5 Pro never made the trip to the global market, and Xiaomi brands that tablet's sole globally-available sibling as the Xiaomi Pad 5. Xiaomi is already rolling out an early MIUI 13 update to the Xiaomi Pad 5 globally but that build is based on Android 11. An Android 12-based build should be on the way in the near future.
