Vivo may be best known for its X-series of high-end, Zeiss-augmented and, thus, photography-focused phones. However, the OEM is projected to diversify beyond these devices through a combination of new and old product lines and form-factors from 2022 on. This may involve the launch of the resurrected NEX series, not to mention that of the company's first-gen tablet.
Some tech fans might expect a slate most like that of the first generation of similar devices from Vivo's sister brand Realme. Its latest design leak suggests that this is more or less the case. Then again, the Pad's putative counterpart may have discrete volume buttons rather than a rocker, as well as quad speakers and a different camera hump that might have been chosen to echo that of the X70 series.
In addition, the "Vivo Pad" just might have slimmer bezels compared to its probable Realme sibling. On that note, its alleged schematic shows an interesting lack of a front-facing camera anywhere on the front panel, not even set into the bezel as one might expect.
As for its internals, the eminent tipster Digital Chat Station predicts a Snapdragon 870 SoC for the first-gen Vivo device, along with a possibly high-refresh-rate display; specs that might put the tablet right in the crosshairs of the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro. Finally, this slate's potentially upcoming rival may debut with a new version of OriginOS intended for foldables as well as tablets.
