MediaTek Dimensity 9000 officially confirmed for December 16 launch event
MediaTek plans to take on Qualcomm at the very top of the market next year. The Taiwanese company will do so with the aid of its upcoming chipset, the Dimensity 9000, and an invitation poster revealing launch date details of the SoC has now surfaced.
As shared on the company's Weibo page, it appears the Dimensity 9000 is being prepared for a December 16 launch event. The teaser reads "Leap To Extraordinary...MediaTek Dimensity Flagship Strategy and New Platform Launch Conference". It's safe to assume that the Dimensity 9000 will be officially launched at that date.
The company already unveiled the chipset last week, so there's not much else to be revealed about the Dimensity 9000. There's a chance, however, that MediaTek also debuts the Dimensity 7000 at that event, although there has been surprisingly little in the way of official information on that chipset. The Dimensity 7000 is expected to be built on TSMC's 5 nm node and while it may not have the raw performance chops of the Dimensity 9000, it'll be cheaper while being a tad more powerful than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 870.
