Rumor | OPPO's new foldable smartphone will not be sold on the international market
OPPO has found some initial approval for its Find N, a foldable smartphone that gives the impression of considerable polish and efficacy, especially for a first-gen product. The device has already met with success in terms of sales, even though it has only been made available in China thus far.
Now, however, it appears the Find N will not get to try and replicate its commercial performance to date in any other markets. According to a member of the global online community team for the OPPO brand OnePlus, the foldable smartphone is not launching globally any time soon.
To be more precise, the staff member (Danial D.) has made what seem to be unequivocal statements to this effect, saying that "this device isn't making its way to the international market" and "this device is a China-only device".
Then again, the comments have been made in the process of unveiling a contest of sorts, by which a handful of lucky individuals can obtain a unit for free as part of a OnePlus Community initiative.
Known as the OnePlus Lab2, it allows members of this forum to apply for a chance to review a variety of devices - the latest of which is a Find N.
There are 3 units up for grabs in this competition, which may involve an evaluation of an applicant's photography and video skills. This iteration of the Lab2 is open for submissions from now until January 7, 2022, with resulting reviews to be posted by January 24. According to OnePlus, this may be the only way for many consumers to acquire one of 2021's most interesting foldable smartphones.
