New renders hint at the Vivo NEX 5's potential to be the most uniquely-designed Android flagship of 2022 on its launch
The last round of renders pertaining to Vivo's 2022 flagship smartphone, slated to be called the NEX 5, depicted an arguably generic-looking phone with colors that might be more suited to X70-series successors. However, EqualLeaks has now partnered with AppleConceptsPro to release new images that turn this idea on its head.
This blog's new renders show a phone that could fit in much betterwith the rest of the NEX series to date. This is mainly due to its circular camera hump that, while being off-center rather than centered, recalls Vivo's former watchface-insipired design much better than the last set of images on the same subject.
The round module, contained within a long rectangle that also serves to acknowledge the OEM's partnership with Zeiss, reflects the latest rumors that the NEX 5 will be a quad rear camera phone. There is also a fifth module, found in a punch-hole within a display that might have dimensions to match the leak pointing to an unusually large 7-inch display for the device.
The possibly super-sized chassis might accommodate specs and features such as a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging; an upgraded fingerprint sensor; IP68 ingress protection, NFC and the IR blaster that has become rare among flagship mobile devices as of late.
The hypothetical 5 also now appears in some brighter colors this time around: a reddish gold and a blue quite like the iPhone 13 line's new Sierra shade as well as a black option. While this design might yet fail to match Vivo's real-like plans for the new, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered NEX, it may be a sign that the upcoming phone could prove a prominent contender among its rivals at its launch.
