The emerging tech rumor-mill Shadow_Leak has just posted a new render that apparently pertains to the NEX 5, as Vivo's new Android flagship might be called. On the face of it, the image seems to merely back up earlier work from OnLeaks and AppleConceptsPro. However, a closer look yields a number of new and potentially tasty details about the upcoming phone.
For a start, this one incorporates the new and heretofore-unseen legend "02.2022", thereby possibly revealing this month as the one in which the NEX 5 will finally see its debut. It is topped by Vivo and Zeiss logos, which, as the 2 brands have collaborated on existing phones in the past, is plausible enough.
The Zeiss name is again found in the purported flagship's camera hump, which is largely the same as in OnLeaks' set of renders. However, the actual, ring-shaped camera module has been updated in this case, in a way that changes 1 of its 4 lenses from a circle to a square.
This might reflect rumors of powerful zoom in this upcoming flagship. ShadowLeaks also asserts that the OEM has placed the phrase "50MP GN1" under each NEX 5's Vivo | Zeiss logo, which might be taken to uncover the ISOCELL sensor to serve as the primary sensor here. Accordingly, the device might be equipped to compete with others such as the Xiaomi 12 and OnePlus 10 Pro on its launch.
