Motorola is forging ahead with its current Android 12 upgrade program with the latest update going to the Moto G30. The device might be over a year old now, and yet is the latest G-series device to see such an OTA. It is being reported by users in one of the device's biggest markets right now.

Motorola has released a list of smartphones to be included in its Android 12 update schedule. The number of these devices is fairly impressive at first glance (~30); however, on closer inspection, it leaves several devices released in 2020 - or even later, in some cases - by the wayside in the process.

Therefore, the Moto G30 may just need to count itself lucky as it seems it is still just about new enough to be cut in on the upgrade action. Some users in Brazil claim to have seen a notification that their OTA that contains the phone's update to Android 12.

The new firmware, reportedly called S0RCS32.41-10-9-2, is a ~1.1GB download and contains the February 2022 security patch. Then again, it is only compatible with the dual-SIM version of the G30, or Motorola XT2129-1-DS, as yet. Hopefully, similar updates for its alternative variants, not to mention their Moto G31 successor, will be forthcoming shortly.
