Motorola teases 125 W smartphone charger for upcoming Moto handset
Motorola may have just released the Edge 30 Pro outside China, but it has already turned its attention elsewhere. For reference, Motorola sells the Edge 30 Pro in North America as the Moto Edge+ (2022), which supports up to 68 W fast charging. However, Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo's Chinese smartphone business, has revealed that Motorola is preparing to announce a Moto product that can recharge at significantly faster wattages than 68 W.
As Jin's Weibo post shows, Motorola has developed a 125 W charger with the lettering '125' emblazoned on it. Purportedly, the charger also weighs 130 g, which GSMArena remarks is lighter than many other comparable chargers. In comparison, Xiaomi and Vivo's equivalents weigh 195 g and 210 g, respectively. Unfortunately, Jin has not revealed what Moto product would support 125 W fast charging.
Currently, GSMArena and Playfuldroid speculate that Motorola's 125 W fast-charging technology could debut on the Frontier, a codename for a future Motorola flagship. As leaked marketing images have shown, the Motorola 'Frontier' has a curved display and a 194 MP primary camera, potentially the Samsung ISOCELL HP1. The Motorola 'Frontier' is rumoured to launch in July 2022 with a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12 MP telephoto camera too.
