Chinese OEM Topton announced yesterday its plans to release mini PCs powered by AMD's Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 APUs. These launch as part of the existing TOPC TR9 lineup that will also include non-PRO APU options like the AI 7 350, AI 9 365 and AI 9 HX 370.
The PRO APUs from AMD do not usually get featured in low-budget mini PC builds, but Topton somehow managed to squeeze the AI 7 PRO 360 model among all the other non-PRO ones. Unlike the AI 7 350 chip that features 4x Zen 5 and 4x Zen 5c cores for a total of 16 threads plus the Radeon 860M, the AI 7 PRO 360 features 3x Zen 5 cores and 5x Zen 5c cores, plus a more powerful Radeon 880M GPU. However, the PRO mini PC is set to start at $362, whereas the AI 7 350 would start at $320. Presumably, the base specs feature 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSDs at these entry-level prices and doubled memory + storage options would go beyond $450, which still present solid value for the money.
A tier above the first two are the AI 9 365 and AI 9 HX 370 10-core models starting at ~$530 and $585, respectively. Topton has not yet revealed the port loadout either, but, looking at the case teased in the pricing announcement, it seems like the new models may get mostly the same design and ports from the previous Ryzen 7000/8000 models, so we can expect 2x USB-A 10 Gbps, audio jack and USB4 in front, while the rear features 2x USB-A 5 Gbps, dual HDMI video outputs and dual Gb LAN jacks, as well as Wi-Fi 6E.
All these new models are supposed to go on sale on the Taobao online shopping platform that also has global shipping options, but making an account there is not exactly Western-friendly.
