It seems that Minisforum is finally preparing to release the N5 Pro after previewing the network-attached storage (NAS) solution at the start of the year. To recap, while the company unveiled the N5 Pro in January, it waited until the end of April before revealing more details about the device.
Now, Minisforum has confirmed that pre-sales for the N5 Pro will open at 07:00 UTC on July 1, having previously indicated that the device would be available this month instead. Regardless, the N5 Pro should still be configurable with up to 96 GB of DDR5 EEC RAM and 144 TB of storage at launch, as well as AMD's powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU.
The N5 Pro will also feature 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps LAN connections, as well as a PCIe x16 slot. In that sense, the N5 Pro is more versatile than Minisforum's other Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mini-PCs like the X1 Pro (curr. $999.99 on Amazon). Moreover, although the N5 Pro could be used as a mini-PC, Minisforum will offer FreeBSD, TruNas and Unraid images for NAS purposes.
Incidentally, Minisforum will share 'exclusive' discounts and giveaway prizes during tomorrow's live stream. Embedded below, the live stream event should go live at 07:00 UTC. Presumably, pre-sales will open shortly afterwards.
