Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, said in an interview with Famitsu that Square Enix was still working on the title and that development was "progressing favorably." He did mention that the company's marketing efforts were heavily focused on Kingdom Hearts III, which releases this January. After January 2019, Square Enix's PR team will likely shift its focus to Final Fantasy VII Remake.

The $25 Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ is the latest single-board computer from the venerable Raspberry Pi Foundation. It is possible Microsoft is working on an Xbox One variant that will not use discs for accessing media. The disc-less console will rely on digital downloads and come in at a cheaper price point than current Xbox One consoles with optical drives. Asus claims its PC builder business (mainly the motherboard sales) has suffered due to Intel's 14 nm CPU shortages. Overall profits have seen a 39% year-over-year decline and the next few quarters will continue to hit Asus's profits, as the shortages are expected to last until Q2 2019. The British regulator Ofcom has announced that it has fined EE and Virgin Media £6.3 million (~ US$8.035 million) and £7 million (~ US$8.928 million) respectively. According to the specs revealed on TENAA, the Honor 10 Lite will retain the 6.21-inch 1080p display from the original Honor 10 model, but the 24 MP selfie cam notch will be smaller. References to a new AMD APU, the Ryzen 7 3700U, have been spotted online leading to speculation as to whether this could be a Zen+ or a Zen 2 part. The Ryzen 7 3700U sports the same clocks and core counts as the Ryzen 7 2700U and most of the evidence so far suggests that this could be the Zen+ APU as the previous 2000U series were based on Zen.

Acer's top-of-the-line Predator 700 laptop with GeForce GTX 1080 Max-Q Graphics will be $700 off next week along with at least a dozen other models. The promotion will apply to major retailers including Newegg, Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Fry's, and more.

Sony has confirmed that it will not be part of the E3 2019 trade show. The organizer of the event, the Entertainment Software Association, has issued a press release to highlight which companies will be in attendance, including Sony’s console rivals Nintendo and Microsoft. In a paper presented at a biometric securities conference, a research team from NYU showed off a new algorithm for cracking fingerprint readers. The system, named "DeepMasterPrints," operates in similar fashion to a dictionary attack for passwords. DeepMasterPrints uses a library of fingerprint images and permutes them until it finds a match.

SK Hynix has published a press release to announce the development of 16 Gb DDR5 DRAM, the first in the industry that meets JEDEC standards. Intel has announced that it is opening a new development center in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana, India with a capacity to host about 1,500 staff. The EPYC Rome server-grade CPUs have just been revealed to have 64 cores and 2.35 GHz clocks, but it looks like AMD is already working on the successor that will be based on the Zen 3 architecture. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the upcoming CPUs will be known as the EPYC Milan, will have more than 64 cores, and will be featured in octa-CPU nodes along with Nvidia's 'Volta-Next" GPUs in the Perlmutter supercomputer.

The RTX 2000-series has been around for a few months now, and it was just a matter of time until the small form-factor models would start popping up. MSI is among the first to release an ITX Turing card with the RTX 2070 Aero ITX, but more models are expected from Gigabyte and Zotac. The award-winning creators of Skyrim and Fallout 4 are back with Fallout 76, an online prequel to the epic series of post-apocalyptic RPGs that was introduced by Interplay Entertainment back in 1997. Fallout 76 is now available via the Microsoft Store as an Xbox One X Enhanced title and also comes as a Tricentennial Edition with various in-game bonuses.
