Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus 2018
Super AMOLED FHD+. Samsung's Galaxy A series is designed with a certain kind of customer in mind: those who want a smartphone with a simple look and high manufacturing quality. We thoroughly tested the 6-inch Galaxy A6+ and report in this review what buyers can expect. The smartphone is priced at around 370 Euros (~$425; international version ~$350).

Archive.org versionThe Galaxy A6+ is good enough phone, but it does lack that extra bit of power, which would have made this unbeatable at this price point. For those who want the newer display, and a better selfie camera at this price point, Galaxy A6+ is certainly an option to consider. But at this price, one expects more from a Samsung phone.

Archive.org versionThe Galaxy A6+ misses out on core features that define a mid-range Samsung phone in 2018. There really isn't any reason to consider the device when there are much better alternatives available at the same price point.

Archive.org versionThe Galaxy A6 (2018) we recently had over was a little too expensive for our tastes, at least for what it had to offer. Its price went down in the meantime, making it a better deal, and the Galaxy A6+ (2018) has had a similar fate. Not only that, but the plus impresses where the non-plus was okay to very good - display and battery life.

Archive.org versionThe Samsung Galaxy A6+ is a pricey phone if you analyse its spec sheet, but if you crumple that sheet, toss it away, and just use the phone, you might discover you actually like using it. I know I liked the solid build, the fine hi-res display, and its daytime photos, if not for its average performance and night-time photos.

Archive.org versionApart from a middling processor, there’s very little that’s not appealing on the Samsung Galaxy A6+. Great cameras, decent battery life, an awesome screen and an aluminium body makes this one of the standout midrange models currently available. Notable is that at the time of publishing a number of cellular providers are offering really decent packages on the A6+. With this phone, at a decent price, the Samsung Galaxy A6+ is the midrange phone to get.

Archive.org versionSamsung Galaxy A6+ camera is a well-packaged phone for its price point. It doesn’t blow your mind off with some extraordinary features, but in this price category, there’s barely any other good option other than Moto X4 and Nokia 7 Plus. If you’re looking for a phone for Rs 25,000-Rs 26,000, Samsung Galaxy A6+ is definitely worth considering.

Archive.org versionAt the end of the day, we feel that with all those inconveniences, Samsung is asking a bit too high a price for the Galaxy A6+. If the company drops the cost slightly, it would be an easier recommendation. Still, if you are looking for a reliable affordable phone with a very good camera, the A6+ will not disappoint.

Archive.org versionThe Samsung Galaxy A6+ is a very slim and sleek smartphone with premium build quality. It does take good photos but isn’t enough to justify the price tag it comes with.

Archive.org versionOverall at 25,990 INR, Samsung Galaxy A6+ feels a bit expensive due to the fact that company used Snapdragon 450. Except that it scores good points in build quality, camera, and display. It is undoubtedly one of the best displays that you will find in the market. Consuming media content on this phone will be amazing for sure.

Archive.org versionOverall, the Galaxy A6+ is not the best smartphone in the price range. Samsung has adopted the Infinity display, same as the A8+, the phone’s metal body feels solid in hand, and it has decent rear camera, good selfie camera, and it offers a good battery life as well. However, the Snapdragon 450 SoC and micro USB port without fast charging is disappointing for a phone that costs Rs. 25,990. The Nokia 7 Plus, Moto X4 6GB and even the Galaxy A8+ are better choices in the price range.

Archive.org versionNow, we’ll be completely honest with you, the price tag of the Samsung Galaxy A6+ (2018) is on the expensive side at Php 22,990. As John mentioned in our hands-on and quick review, there’s a ton of competition out there that are offering a little more zip under the hood that’s just slightly more expensive than this device. However, if your loyalties lie with the Korean brand and have your eyes set on the A6+, you might want to check out if its available via your telco’s postpaid plans instead of paying for it straight out.

Archive.org versionThe Galaxy A6+ is only meant for long-term Samsung loyalists looking to buy a phone primarily for multimedia consumption (and not hardcore gaming) on a budget. For everybody else, there are certainly better options.

Archive.org versionSo, does the Samsung Galaxy A6+ have more to it than it meets the eye? Well, you could say yes. It is an oddball of a device though — priced at the mid-range segment yet equipped with a budget chipset. Performance is not that bad but for the price you’re paying for, you’ll be left wanting more. Then again, if you can get past that bump, you’ll be left with an elegantly crafted device that has impressive speakers, cameras, and features. Question is, are those advantages enough for the Galaxy A6+ to pry consumers away from more powerful competitors?

Archive.org versionThe Samsung Galaxy A6+ has a stellar display with deep blacks, punchy colours, and great viewing angles. The battery life is good and so is the build quality. Unlike many smartphones in this price range, the A6+ can be bought from e-commerce sites as well as at offline retail stores.

Archive.org versionAs we mentioned earlier, the Galaxy A6+ (2018) is priced at Php 22,990. That’s a fairly steep price for the specs, considering that Samsung is facing off against a lot of upstarts at the sub 20K price point that has better hardware on paper. We’ll have to see in our full review if the Galaxy A6+ (2018) really deserves that price tag.

Archive.org versionThe Samsung Galaxy A6+ is priced at Rs. 25,990 in India, and it will go on sale starting May 22 via Paytm Mall, the Samsung India E-Store, Amazon India, and also Samsung's offline retail stores. While the Galaxy A6+ is quite feature-packed, it costs the same as the Nokia 7 Plus (Review), which got top marks from us at Gadgets 360, and has a more powerful processor. We will have to test this phone extensively to see how it fares against the competition. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for our in-depth review of the Galaxy A6+.

Model:
The Samsung Galaxy A6+ 2018 is a mid-range smartphone that strips out the fancier features found on the S-series flagships and is aimed at users with lighter usage. It is a phone that will not break the bank, yet it features a thin, elegant and sturdy metal body. It has a dual camera with Live Focus portrait mode, something typically only featured on higher-end devices. While the current trend favors phones with a glass back, users with rougher usage will actually be happy to use this phone made of metal for a change. It definitely does not feel as brittle as a glass phone, the back does not get all dirty with fingerprint smudges, and the user can even risk using it without a case without fearing that the slightest drop will shatter the back of the phone and incur costly repairs. The Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus (2018) is powered by a Snapdragon 450 CPU with 4 GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 450 can handle all tasks and even games, but it runs with a noticeable stutter and makes users wait an extra second for apps and games to load and for things to move. In terms of storage, the user gets 32 GB on board and the option of adding additional storage via microSD cards.
The device has a dual-camera setup on the rear, a 16MP (f/1.7) sensor + a 5MP (f/1.9) sensor, with an LED flash next to it. At the front, it has a 24MP sensor (f/1.9). The camera works perfectly well in the daylight mode. The colors come out well, close to natural, with visible fine details and very little noise. However, when it comes to low light, the camera fails in terms of detail and colors. The device has a 6-inch Super-AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (1080 x 2220 pixels, 411 PPI) display. Unlike phones with an LCD display, the OLED display has a soothing brightness. Display colors are rich and not very bright, which works perfectly. The thing to note is that Samsung's flagships are the only ones that possess a real infinity display. The one on the A6, while it is called an Infinity Display, does not curve around the edges the way the displays on Samsung's best do. The phone not only has a large display, it is also large in size overall and heavy (191 grams). On the right side of the phone, there is a power key, and on the left side, you get two separate volume buttons. On the bottom, users can find a micro-USB port for charging. The smartphone supports Wifi, NFC, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. It packs a non-removable Li-Ion 3500mAh battery at 7.9mm device thickness and runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo).
