The HTC Desire 12 Plus is a perfectly decent £200 smartphone, but its key rivals (particularly the Moto G6) manage to match or better it in almost every way.

HTC arguably has a better chance of doing well in the budget market compared to the high-end at the moment. Although the Desire 12+ is a reasonable option for a cheap phone, it's not the best around.

No. That is unless you are buying the phone in your local market where other options, such as those Xiaomi or Nokia phones, aren't available. It's not that the HTC Desire 12+ is a shabby phone. It is not. For regular use, it is a decent option. But it is also a phone stuck in the past, and comes with core hardware that doesn't belong in a Rs 19,000 phone. At a lower price, you have phones like the Moto G6, the Nokia 6.1, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 that come with better hardware, better screen, better performance and in Nokia's case even a better design. This one is strictly for people who can't for some reason purchase other phones mentioned but are readily getting the Desire 12+ and that too preferably at some discount.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

71.09%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
