Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi 6A
With the Redmi 6A, Xiaomi presents the successor of the affordable Redmi 5A, keeping it at the same price while improving the equipment significantly. We evaluate in our review what improvements are waiting for the buyer of the 90-Euro (~$102; starting at $90 in the US) smartphone and how it fares against the competitors.

Redmi 6A is a capable smartphone for the price. At the price, it delivers on performance, specifications, and is a compact and easy to use smartphone. However, the phone does have its fair share of cons like low-light camera performance, no fingerprint sensor and using the smartphone outside under direct sunlight. For under Rs 7,000 this is not a bad option, though Realme C1 will give tough competition to the phone as well.

With that in mind, you may just want to check out some other devices on the market. Unless you are fine with all of that, in which case you may want to go with the Redmi 6.

To conclude: for $100 it's very nice. Walking into a best buy or Walmart you won't find anything nearly this nice for $100 and what you do find will be a pre-paid phone locked to some MNVO or another, whereas this phone is unlocked The biggest downside to the price is you have to wait a month to get it from china.

The Redmi 6A is a fairly good update to the Redmi 5A, which itself was barely any different compared to the Redmi 4A (Review). You now get a tall screen, better processor, and improved polish overall. However, the price has gone up — Rs. 5,999 is still very good, especially considering the recent slide in the Indian Rupee's exchange rate, but it isn't quite as tempting as the Redmi 5A was at Rs. 4,999. This is also just an "introductory" price, and we don't yet know how long it will last or what it will increase to after that.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6A is Xiaomi’s most affordable offering this year. It’s meant for those who are upgrading from a feature phone to a smartphone for the first time. However, anyone buying the phone after years of using a feature phone might not be quite happy with the experience. It’s painfully sluggish to use because of the lower RAM, but the battery life of the phone is sufficient enough to surprise even a feature-phone user.

To conclude, the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A comes loaded with a new line of processors and both of them are priced quite aggressively. The phones have a new display ratio and both of them are equipped with some decent cameras. In the end, it would be interesting to see whether both the phones will be able to make its place in the budget segment or not.

74.51%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation.
