Will the new Nvidia GeForce Super Max-Q GPUs be any relevant in the laptop space? There isn't a lot of room and some performance overlap could be inevitable based on our benchmarks on almost 100 different GeForce RTX laptops already in the market.

NVIDIA is bringing its Turing architecture to its GeForce MX series, an example of which has now appeared on 3DMark. Sporting a 540 MHz base clock and 2 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, the possible GeForce MX450 is based on the TU117 GPU, the same found in the GTX 1650 and GTX 1650 Max-Q.

The refreshed RTX 2060 / 2070 laptop GPUs have slightly higher clocks compared to the original Max-P versions and they feature similar hardware optimizations from the Super SKUs, including lower-voltage GDDR6 VRAM and improved current regulators. A new Intel Core i9-10980HK processor has been spotted in a Gigabyte Aorus 17X YB laptop on Geekbench 5. The chip managed a single-core score of 1,352 points and a multi-core score of 8,386 points. The results are very similar to those of an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H in an Asus TUF Gaming laptop, but the Comet Lake processor can rely on a much higher power draw than the Renoir APU.

At an affordable price, Acer's Aspire 5 A515-54G brings solid gaming performance and a brand new Comet Lake processor to your desk at home. Yet we hardly found any reason to complain in terms of the performance or the screen.

Like the Chromebook 715, the Chromebook Flip C436 is another expensive Chromebook from Asus. Announced at CES 2020 in January, the Flip C436 is now available to purchase in the US. Starting at US$799.99, Asus is currently offering the Flip C436 with Core i3 or Core i5 Comet Lake-U processors.

Looks like we'll have to wait a little bit longer before we get to see proper Ryzen PRO 4000U processors for business laptops. Until then, HP will be including the regular consumer Ryzen SKUs onto its latest ProBook models set to launch by the end of the month.

A slide from Asus has revealed that the manufacturer believed there would be an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super Mobile GPU coming from the graphics card company. However, even though there is a GeForce RTX 2080 Super Mobile part and a GeForce RTX 2070 Super Mobile GPU, it appears that there are no further plans for a 2060 variant at the moment.

Clevo has upgraded its barebones designs to feature the new Comet Lake-H and RTX 20 Super Mobile offerings. The new designs in the PB50 and PB70 series feature CPU options up to the Core i9-10880H and GPU options up to the RTX 2070 Super Mobile with some SKUs offering G-Sync displays. OEMs based on Clevo designs such as Schenker have already made available laptops powered by the latest Intel and NVIDIA offerings with more variants set to be available in the coming months.
