The 2024 Asus Zenbook S16 featuring the latest Ryzen AI 9 365 Strix Point APU is now on sale at Best Buy at a cool 14% discount. Being a Zenbook S laptop, the Zenbook S16 is a premium notebook with a thin aluminum body with a relatively low weight and an excellent OLED screen.

AMD's upcoming handheld chip, the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, might launch with an 8-core CPU. Unlike its predecessor that used all Zen 4 cores, the Z2 Extreme will come with a mix of Zen 5 and Zen 5c cores.

GPD is plotting to introduce a new compact or ultra portable laptop, which it will release later this year as the GPD Pocket 4. Not only will the Pocket 4 pack a 144 Hz and 8.8-inch display like the ONEXPLAYER X1 Mini and Lenovo Legion Go, but it will also feature an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU paired with fast LPDDR5-7500 RAM.

GPD has officially showcased its Pocket 4, which will be featuring the new AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. In the performance comparison section, the company claims that the Radeon 890M of the APU can beat the Arc 140V iGPU of the Core Ultra 7 268V. The good part for Intel is that the Lunar Lake iGPU is shown to be better than the last-gen Radeon 780M.

AMD's latest Ryzen 9000 CPUs based on the Zen 5 architecture officially went on sale on August 8. However, according to sales data reported by TechEpiphany, the processors have failed to garner a strong response from the community. The Ryzen 5 9600X, for instance, has only sold a handful of units.

After the launch of Strix Point, AMD Zen 5 has made its official debut on desktop today. The first two Ryzen 9000 series processors available are the Ryzen 5 9500X and the Ryzen 7 9700X. Reviews of these CPUs are already out, and the current top-end model appears to not have lived up to expectations.

AMD Strix Point laptops hit the shelves last month, but we have yet to see the launch of mini PCs featuring the new Zen 5 processors. An AOOSTAR representative has shared that the company doesn't expect mini computers with AMD Ryzen AI 300 series APUs to be available before October.
