After a slow start, the volume of new AMD Strix Halo-powered devices that companies are bringing out is now growing at a gradual speed. Initially, only major OEMs like Asus and HP announced Strix Halo devices. However, that has changed in the last few weeks, too.
Now, Beelink has joined the party with the GTR9 Pro, which will soon be sold alongside the AI Mini. Please see our separate article for more details about Beelink's so-called 'AI server cluster'. As for the GTR9 Pro, it looks unmistakably like a halfway house between the Mac Studio and Mac mini in terms of size.
Based on the image that Beelink has released so far, the mini-PC has four front-facing microphones, a 3.5 mm jack, an SD card reader and a USB Type-C port. Also, the GTR9 Pro contains a more sensible power button placement than the latest Mac mini.
The GTR9 Pro should be considerably more powerful than the Mac mini even with an Apple M4 Pro chipset, though. In fact, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is the same APU that GMKtec uses inside the EVO-X2 (curr. $1,799 on Amazon). Beelink clarifies that its mini-PC will be available up to 96 GB of VRAM, which should mean that 128 GB of RAM comes soldered from the factory. The GTR9 Pro is slated to arrive for $1,999; Beelink has only remarked that the mini-PC is 'coming soon' at this stage, though.
