Hardly any time has passed since Aokzoe released its A1X gaming handheld globally. To recap, the Aokzoe A1X is one of an increasing number of gaming handhelds to combine AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU with up to 64 GB of RAM and OCuLink connectivity for eGPU expansion. However, it turns out that Aokzoe has something even more powerful its sleeve.
For the time being, Aokzoe has not confirmed the name of the device in question. However, the branding 'AI PC' can be found on its right-hand side, which is joined by 'Hypermind Drive' on its top and left-hand edges. Regardless of its name, Aokzoe's next release will be powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 to rival other recent mini-PCs like GMKtec's EVO-X2 (curr. $1,499 on Amazon).
Also found in the Asus ROG Flow Z13, the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 brings 16 Zen 5 CPU cores to the table, clocked at 5.1 GHz and with 32 threads at its disposal. According to our benchmarks, this APU should give Aokzoe's first mini-PC around a 39% CPU performance advantage over the A1X. Meanwhile, the integrated Radeon 8060S delivers over twice the performance of the Radeon 890M found in the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.
Currently, Aokzoe has only teased that its mini-PC is 'coming soon'. Based on the photos it has published so far, the device has a dedicated performance button, which is flanked by three front-facing USB ports, a 3.5 mm jack and a full-sized SD card reader. Presumably, Aokzoe will reveal more details about its GMKtec EVO-X2 competitor within the next few weeks or so.
