Less than a month has passed since Asus released the ROG NUC 2025 in China. While the company has not confirmed when it will replace the original ROG NUC (curr. $1,353 on Amazon) globally. Nonetheless, it has now announced the introduction of two cheaper SKUs.
For context, Asus previously only offered the ROG NUC 2025 for CNY 24,999 (~$3,480) with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU, 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD. According to ITHome, one of Asus' new SKUs drops to a 1 TB SSD for a CNY 600 (~$84) saving, at CNY 24,399 (~$3,398). This cheaper option retains the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU and 32 GB of RAM from the original SKU.
Meanwhile, swapping the GeForce RTX 5080 for an RTX 5070 Ti saves even more while keeping the same processor, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Specifically, this third SKU will arrive for CNY 18,399 (~$2,561) in a CNY 6,600 (~$919) saving. For reference, the switch from an RTX 5080 to an RTX 5070 Ti will cost about 20% in GPU performance. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Asus will actually release these two new SKUs yet.
