The graphics company is back at it with a professional-level card that features two Intel Arc GPUs, support for up to eight 5K displays, and multi-display sync precision down to the pixel level.

Matrox, once a top name in the graphics card industry, is now in the spotlight due to its dual-GPU offering for multiple screens, the LUMA Pro A380 Octal. Designed for mission-critical visualization applications in video walls and control rooms, the card can drive up to eight synchronized 5K monitors or four 8K displays from a single slot.

The LUMA Pro A380 Octal is centered around two Intel Arc A380E GPUs with 12GB of GDDR6 memory. The board is rated at 130 watts and features active cooling, packed in a single-slot PCIe 4.0 x16 form factor. Matrox is targeting the card at professional AV, display wall, and broadcast workflows that require both high resolution and stable synchronization.

It offers eight 2.0 Mini DisplayPort outputs with high bandwidth, capable of 36-bit color depth. The card is optimized for significant APIs, including DirectX 12 Ultimate, Vulkan 1.3, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0. Developers can use Matrox’s PowerDesk software and its Mura Developer Tools to easily build custom control applications.

Highlights of the features include HDR output support, VESA DSC compression, Adaptive Sync, HDCP 2.3, as well as multi-channel digital audio via four outputs. Two A380 Octal cards can also be linked together for systems requiring multiple synchronous outputs, and support frame-locking.

Matrox will also be showcasing a single-GPU, 6 GB memory A380 Quad version called the LUMA Pro A380 Quad, featuring four full-size DisplayPort connectors. With a lower power draw and simpler configuration, the Quad is ideal for less complex installations that still require professional-grade reliability, as compared to the Octal’s 8-output configuration.

Matrox, which has provided display systems for high-profile projects such as the Las Vegas Sphere, has not released pricing or launch dates. For now, both cards are still marked as “coming soon.”
