The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 is scheduled to launch in Europe in July. Nvidia has now confirmed the euro price of the cheapest Blackwell desktop graphics card, and as the US price already suggested, the graphics card is too expensive in terms of features, so customers with a smaller budget should look for alternatives.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 was only announced on Tuesday and is scheduled to launch in the second half of July. The graphics card will cost $249 in the US. As Nvidia has now officially confirmed to ComputerBase, the RRP in Germany is €259. This makes the GPU around €7 more expensive than a direct conversion of the US price (including VAT) would suggest.

Although it doesn't seem like much, the list price seems far too high compared to the price of the GeForce RTX 5060. The next faster model in Nvidia's desktop GPU portfolio officially costs €319, or €292 at certain retailers. This makes the GeForce RTX 5060 only 23% and 12% more expensive than the GeForce RTX 5050, respectively, but offers 50% more CUDA processing units and 40% higher memory bandwidth, as the RTX 5050 has 8 GB of VRAM but is equipped with older GDDR6 instead of GDDR7.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is also available from just €299. If you can't spend more than €259, you can find the Intel Arc B580 with 12 GB of graphics memory for the same price; extensive tests will soon reveal whether Intel's mid-range GPU is faster than the GeForce RTX 5050. Used graphics cards could also be a better option for some customers. For the GeForce RTX 5050 to offer a comparable price-performance ratio to the GeForce RTX 5060, at least on paper, the price would have to fall to around €200.
