Nvidia's latest driver update offers a mix of bug fixes, DLSS4 support for certain titles and is also the first to support its recently unveiled RTX 5050 GPU

Nvidia has released a new GeForce Game Ready Driver (version 576.88), rolling out support for the RTX 5050 GPU in both desktop and laptop variants.
The 869MB driver package also throws in DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation support for the new third-person multiplayer shooter Mecha BREAK, as well as updates in time for Season 9 of Diablo 4 and Monster Hunter: Wilds.

Mecha BREAK, the new 3v3 and 6v6 third-person mech shooter, receives day-one DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation support, allowing RTX 5070 owners to hit 200+ FPS, while the RTX 5090 achieves a staggering 450+ FPS at 4K.

In addition to this, Diablo IV’s Season 9 update, “Sins of the Horadrim,” integrates DLSS 4 support, allowing users to eliminate the need for Nvidia's DLSS Override workaround. As per Nvidia’s performance benchmarks, RTX 5070 users can enjoy 190+ FPS while RTX 5090 users can expect 370+ FPS at 4K with Ray Tracing enabled using DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation.

Game optimizations aside, the 576.88 driver introduces support for both laptop and desktop variants of the new GeForce RTX 5050. RTX 5050 laptops are already available for order in China. In the U.S., MSI announced the Katana 15, boasting the RTX 5050, a Core i7-14650HX CPU, 16GB RAM, and a 144Hz display for $999. Add-in board partners won’t sell the desktop variant until mid-July, which will retail for $249.

While Team Green claims the RTX 5050 laptops are available as of June 24, 2025, the laptops remain difficult to find online. The only listing, thus far, is labeled “out of stock” at major retailer Walmart. The RTX 5050’s announcement rounds out Nvidia’s RTX Blackwell lineup, bringing the budget-friendly entry-level GPU to a frugal audience.

The release of the latest GeForce driver also introduces some bug fixes. The driver fixes a VRAM clock speed issue when NVIDIA Smooth Motion is enabled. It also fixes a bug where using the Nvidia App Overlay with DLSS Frame Generation froze Cyberpunk 2077. The driver also addresses a black screen issue during driver installation on AMD Ryzen systems. Rounding up the list of bug fixes, a black screen issue has been resolved when switching between 480Hz and 360Hz on Sony SDM-27Q10S monitors.
