Nvidia's flagship consumer-grade Blackwell GPU, the RTX 5090 sees prices dip just below €2000 for the first time since its launch

While Nvidia's RTX 5090 GPU has historically traded at a massive premium versus its MSRP since launch, market trends are now indicating that it might be nearing, or even potentially pushing below that mark for certain SKUs.

German computer hardware retailer Mindfactory.de seems to have made history based on a tracking bot deployed by ComputerBase by selling the first RTX 5090 in EU under 2000 Euros, at €1999.99 to be exact.

The pricing has already changed since pushing up to a sub €2500 price tag at the retailer. This makes the GPU a considerably more pricey affair than originally indicated for users keen on grabbing one.

The supply situation has however improved for the RTX 5090 of late, which has contributed to prices generally edging lower consistently across its territories including Germany, where Mindfactory is incorporated.

Pricing in the UK has already dropped to MSRP levels for multiple third party SKUs and reports indicate that some more premium variants are currently enjoying better supply lately.

Mindfactory's pricing at the time of writing ranges from €2500 to €3200 for the RTX 5090 with 12 SKUs available for users to chose from including the popular MSI Suprim lineup as well as the more entry-level Palit GameRock offering currently trades at a sub-€2600 price tag.

Both, the UK's pricing as well as that of the EEA (European Economic Area) are significantly lower than most RTX 5090 listings in the US including retail giants Amazon and Newegg in addition to eBay which has seen scalping, tariff-related price hikes and limited supply essentially conjure up a perfect storm for enthusiast users looking to grab a unit close to the suggested MSRP of $2000.

Despite this, the price movement is a significant one, marking the first time the GPU has dropped below its stated MSRP in the EU and potentially the world, which could indicate further normalization in terms of both pricing and supply in the days to come.

It is also important to note that Chinese users currently have no access to the RTX 5090 GPU with a China-specific RTX 5090D being offering to them, with a newer RTX 5090DD expected to show in the coming days. This has loosely resulted in a black market for the RTX 5090 GPU to emerge as it continues to be a potent AI-centric player for smaller inference-based tasks across the globe.
