Minix has launched the N713, which is a new mini PC that's now available on Amazon. The manufacturer itself acts as the seller, while the e-commerce giant handles the shipping. Minix is currently asking $659, but a coupon code offers an additional launch discount of $60.
With that out of the way, the new mini PC measures 4.72 x 4.72 x 1.49 inches and is powered by an Intel Core i7-13620H, which is a processor that’s more than two years old at this point. However, it should still offer a decent amount of performance. Furthermore, the desktop system ships with 32GB of RAM, or two 16GB modules to be more exact. It supports a total of 96GB of memory and also sports a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, but a second M.2 2280 slot is available for easy storage expansion. However, that slot is only connected via four PCIe 3.0 lanes, but also supports SATA SSDs.
The Minix N713 supports up to four external monitors thanks to two HDMI 2.1 ports, along with one Thunderbolt 4 and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. Theoretically, an external graphics card can be connected via Thunderbolt 4, which would lead to lower GPU performance since OCuLink is not available. That said, this mini PC isn’t designed for gamers, but rather for productive users with office or multimedia workloads.
The remaining connectivity options include a total of four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports. Instead of a traditional barrel plug, power is supplied via USB Type-C with 20 volts and up to 5 amperes. In terms of network connectivity, mini PC users can rely on WiFi 6 and two Ethernet ports, one of which supports 2.5Gbit/s, while the other maxes out at 1Gbit/s.
