Razer reworked its 14-inch gaming laptop Blade 14 for 2025 and now uses a lighter as well as slimmer chassis. The chassis quality is still excellent, and the new OLED screen is convincing (except for the limited maximum HDR brightness). Many users were rather disappointed after the announcement of the new Blade 14, because it is only available with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop, which is once again equipped with 8 GB VRAM.
As we have seen in our review, there can be limitations when you play demanding games in QHD, but the gaming performance is very good in 1080p and the Blade 14 can utilize the full potential of the RTX 5070 Laptop. The 1080p performance is actually not that much worse compared to the Zephyrus G14 with the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop.
The lead of the Zephyrus G14 is growing in the QHD resolution and it is obviously better suited for the next couple of years with 12 GB VRAM. We have to say that the additional effort from Asus to include more powerful GPUs (which required changes to the chassis and cooling) definitely pays off, because there is simply no rival in the 14-inch segment.
However, there is also the price, and our review unit of the Blade 14 with the Ryzen AI 9 365, 32 GB RAM and the RTX 5070 Laptop for 2399 Euros is very interesting. The G14 with the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop is pretty much 1000 Euros more expensive, which begs the question if 4 GB more VRAM really justifiy the price tag. If you are not looking for the maximum gaming performance and you are happy with 1080p gaming, the new Blade 14 2025 is a really good all-rounder.
