Asus has improved the cooling performance of its compact 14-inch gaming laptop ROG Zephyrus G14 and now also offers more powerful GPUs inside the slim chassis. While the 2024 model was limited to the GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop, the 2025 version can be equipped with the two faster graphics cards RTX 5070 Ti Laptop as well as the RTX 5080 Laptop. Both offer more VRAM and much more performance, which cannot be said about the new RTX 5070 Laptop (8 GB VRAM).
In order to use the two more powerful GPUs, Asus had to improve the cooling performance (including larger heat pipe, additional VRAM cooling, two larger fans instead of three), which also resulted in a slightly thicker chassis. The maximum TGP is 120 Watts (95 Watts + 25 Watts Dynamic Boost). The additional work seems to pay off, because right now Asus offers the most powerful 14-inch gamer without any competition.
Until recently we did not know whether Razer would use a similar concept for the new Blade, but we can answer this question now. Razer made the new Blade 14 even slimmer and the fastest GPU option is the GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop, so the gaming performance is noticeably worse compared to the ROG Zephyrus G14.
Whether you select the RTX 5080 Laptop or the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop also depends on what you want to do with your laptop. The gaming performance of the two models is pretty comparable, but the RTX 5080 Laptop offers more VRAM (16 vs. 12 GB), which can help when you edit pictures and videos. Please see our review of the ROG Zephyrus G14 for all information about the graphics performance of the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop.
