ECS Liva Z8 Plus debuts as new AMD Strix Point mini PC
ECS has showcased a host of new mini PCs at Computex 2025, and the Liva Z8 Plus is one of them. At the core, it's a compact PC with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, which is the top-end option from the AMD Strix Point lineup. This APU brings the Radeon 890M, making the new mini PC capable of smoothly handling AAA games at 1080p.
The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 of this mini PC can be paired with up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 or LPDDR5-75000 RAM. ECS didn't offer any further details on memory support, but given that the LPDDR5 RAM is typically soldered to the mainboard, it's possible that there will be two different variants of Liva Z8 Plus.
Apart from that, the new mini PC from ECS has two M.2 2280 slots that can hold PCIe Gen 4 SSDs (2 TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus curr. $139.99 on Amazon). The company has also highlighted the rich port selection of the Z8 Plus, and the mini PC has the following:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1x1 Type-A
- 2x 2.5G LAN
- 1x USB4
- 1x DisplayPort
- 1x HDMI
- 1x audio jack
For wireless connectivity, there's a dedicated M.2 2230 slot for a wireless card. As for the chassis, ECS notes that it measures 147x147x55.8 mm, and there appears to be an RGB light array along the upper corners of the casing.
Other notable highlights of the Liva Z8 Plus include a 120 W bundled power supply, a dual-microphone setup, and a sleek black finish. ECS has yet to share the pricing and availability details of this new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mini PC.
