OnePlus has sent an email to "some of" its customers advising them of a lapse in data protection at the company. In this case, it appears passwords and payment details are safe; however, personal information associated with these consumers may have been stolen. OnePlus has released its Open Beta 6 software update for the 7 and 7 Pro. This version of OxygenOS confers the latest security patch levels on the 2 phones. It also introduces a setting to disable Zen Mode, as well as some fixes for the series' in-display fingerprint scanner.

A OnePlus 7T sporting an octa-core processor has apparently been spotted on the Geekbench 5 benchmark. The device in question amassed very respectable scores in both the single-core and multi-core tests, generally outperforming the OnePlus 7 Pro by a small margin. The OnePlus 7T is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC.

Pete Lau, the chief executive officer (CEO) at OnePlus, has confirmed that a new phone with an imminent release will have a 90Hz screen. The use of the eptithet "affordable" also connected to this phone suggests that this device is the 7T rather than the 7T Pro. This, then, may not go down well with those who already own the 7 Pro.
