@Vivo_India tweeted the launch date for Vivo’s X50 series. The Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro will both arrive on July 16th. The Pro will feature an innovative gimbal camera for capturing video. However, high pricing and the midrange Snapdragon 765G make the value proposition questionable.
Arjun Krishna Lal,

@Vivo_India recently tweeted the company’s scheduled India release date for the Vivo X50 series, including the Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro. The Vivo X50 lineup is expected to launch on July 16th, five days before the arrival of the OnePlus Nord

This means that the Vivo devices will be the very first Snapdragon 765G devices in the Indian market. Apart from the aforementioned Qualcomm chipset, both of these devices sport balanced specs, with a 6.56-in AMOLED display at FHD+ and battery capacities in excess of 4000 mAh. The Vivo X50 Pro in particular will feature a gimbal camera configuration, a unique setup that stabilises video capture by allowing the rear camera to physically move around within its enclosure.

While the camera innovation is something to look forward to, Vivo’s pricing strategy could potentially dampen hopes of the X50 series competing with the OnePlus Nord. We still don’t have clarity about the Nord’s pricing. However, as a budget device, it’s expected to significantly less than the flagship OnePlus 8 Pro. If Vivo carries over its Chinese pricing to India, the X50 series could start at INR 37,000 and go up to nearly INR 50,000 (US$665).
