Realme leak reveals company's aim to solve common 5G smartphone issues with mysterious curved-screen device
Noted leaker Digital Chat Station has shared an intriguing picture on Weibo of an unknown Realme smartphone. The image shows a render of a mystery 5G smartphone with some Chinese text and the Realme brand name. A few details can be gleaned from the Realme smartphone and the text – for instance, it seems this particular device will have a slightly curved display.
The tiniest punch-hole front-facing camera can also be made out in the top left-hand corner of this enigmatic Realme 5G smartphone, and it apparently offers a high refresh rate for the display too. It’s even possible this may end up being the device that utilizes Realme’s supposed 120 W UltraDart charging technology.
This latter presumption would actually fit nicely with what the Chinese text points out, that this Realme smartphone should solve issues other 5G smartphones have. Users have complained about 5G connectivity rapidly depleting their smartphone's battery, and there have also been issues with heat development, durability, and design. It’s possible Realme might want to take on some or all of those complaints with this new device.
The text also reveals that this will be a new series for Realme, with one source stating that the tagline “Aoligei” can be translated as either “come on” or “just do it”. Typical smartphone marketing slogans that don’t reveal anything particular, but it does appear that Realme wants to make a bigger splash in the swiftly expanding 5G smartphone market.
