Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 reduced to ₹3,999 (US$53) to counter the upcoming OnePlus Buds threat

Xiaomi has made the choice to reduce the price of its Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 from ₹4,499 (US$60) to ₹3,999 (US$53). The Chinese OEM has put the earphones on offer before, back in May, but it appears a strategic cut may have now taken place in an attempt to reduce the attraction of the powerful OnePlus Buds. Xiaomi actually advertises a maximum retail price of ₹5,499 (US$74) for the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2, which come with free delivery in India.

OnePlus has launched its Buds earphones, which will be available for purchase soon and will cost ₹4,990 (US$67), unless the OEM suddenly decides to discount them as an introductory offer. There are some differences between the OnePlus Buds and the Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2, but if there is nothing that sticks out as a potential dealbreaker for many customers then it might just come down to the price tag. However, the charging case for the OnePlus Buds is much more powerful than the one for the Xiaomi rival earphones from Xiaomi.

Battery life is certainly one of the important selling points for new earphones, and OnePlus claims that its Buds can deliver up to seven hours of music playback after being fully charged (rising to 30 hours with the charging case). In fact, just 10 minutes of fast charging will give users of the OnePlus Buds two hours of play time. In contrast, the Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 can manage up to four hours of playback on a single charge, which rises to 14 hours with the case. So OnePlus certainly has the advantage if battery life is your dealbreaker.
