The Redmi AirDots 2 earphones have been officially announced by Xiaomi. The True Wireless Stereo (TWS) audio equipment will be launched on July 22 at a starting price of 79 yuan (US$11). After the crowdfunding period, the budget earphones will go to a regular retail price of just 99 yuan (US$14).
According to the Xiaomi marketing material, the Redmi AirDots 2 feature 7.2 mm sound drivers and DSP noise-reduction technology. The cheap TWS earphones also feature Xiaomi’s AI assistant that can be activated via a double tap on the earbud, while it’s also possible to synchronize the AirDots 2 with a smartphone for additional functionality.
Users can expect around four hours of audio entertainment on a single charge from the Redmi AirDots 2, with the charging case offering an additional 12 hours when required. The lightweight earbuds come with small, medium, and large caps for every ear size. The AirDots 2 will go on sale in China from 10:00 am on Wednesday July 22.
