Redmi AirDots 3 or Redmi True Buds 2 Pro wireless earphones appear to be incoming for early 2021
Redmi AirDots 3 - or Redmi True Buds 2 Pro - could soon be winging their way to retailer shelves within the next few months. A Bluetooth certification has been unearthed that reveals the name of the upcoming Xiaomi audio device, although it’s unclear whether the names represent what the earphones will be called in different markets or not. Xiaomi has a habit of rebranding the same product for the domestic and international markets, sometimes with confusing results.
However, it’s certainly very likely that the popular and affordable Redmi AirDots 2 will get a successor, although it seems a bit too soon for any impending launch. It has been speculated that the AirDots 3 will see the light of day in early 2021, possibly by the end of the first quarter or the start of the second quarter. The original Redmi AirDots were released just before the end of Q1 2019 and were seen as a low-priced alternative to Apple’s AirPods.
Obviously there is little to be gleaned from a Bluetooth certification apart from the names, model number (TWSEJ08LS), and the confirmation of support for Bluetooth 5.0. It’s likely the Redmi AirDots 3/Redmi True Buds 2 Pro will offer minor refinements over the predecessor if the price point is still going to be at the attractive level expected from such a Redmi-branded device. Improved audio delivery quality and longer battery runtimes should be part of the upcoming Xiaomi wireless earphones package, though.
