Evidence of a low-cost OnePlus device being in the works has been around since early this year. A mysterious OnePlus 8 Lite (aka OnePlus Z, OnePlus Nord) was spotted online, but OnePlus didn't unveil it alongside the OnePlus 8 series. Subsequent leaks told us quite a lot about the phone. Even the tentative release date was leaked a few days ago.
OnePlus has now created a dedicated Instagram account for the OnePlus Z. It is (quite unimaginatively) named Onepluslitezthing, and is full of 'coded' messages that tell us its release date. One image is simply the word 'July' spelled out in Morse code, with the following image featuring a person wearing a garment with the number 10 engraved on it. It effectively cements the rumors that the phone will be released on July 10th.
The OnePlus Z/OnePlus Nord will reportedly make its debut in India, followed by a European release. The information comes from OnePlus' head honcho Pete Lau himself via a forum post. The phone will reportedly retail at $299, as hinted by OnePlus' other co-founder Carl Pei on Twitter.
