It has been a few days since OnePlus launched its @onepluslitzthing Instagram account, an account that is undoubtedly part of the company's marketing campaign for the launch of its next smartphone. While the company has since made the account private, posts are still being republished elsewhere. While many have offered little in the way of any substance, a swiftly deleted post contained the company's new NORD logo. It is unclear whether the device, thought to be called the OnePlus 8 Lite or OnePlus Z, will be branded the OnePlus Nord despite assertions to the contrary by some outlets. Nonetheless, the branding contained in the Instagram post does match that which Roland Quandt and WinFuture published earlier this week.

The NORD name has popped up elsewhere too. We can no longer find the source who brought this to our attention, but the video itself remains live on Amazon's servers. The video is nothing special and is the same one that OnePlus has published on YouTube. However, the video name is NORD-20s_Hero_Teaser-1x1.1080p.200620.H264_01._CB428081019.mp4, which lends more credence to the idea that OnePlus will utilise the NORD brand for its upcoming smartphone. OnePlus NORD 20s could be a contender for the name of the device, although the inclusion of 20s does not fit with conventional naming schemes.
Names notwithstanding, OnePlus is thought to be launching its next smartphone on July 10. The presence of a dedicated OnePlusLiteZThing on Amazon.in suggests that OnePlus may focus on the Indian market, at least initially.
The OnePlus 8 Lite, OnePlus Z, OnePlus Nord or OnePlus NORD 20s is expected to launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, a 90 Hz display and potentially upwards of 12 GB of RAM.
