It has been reported that Redmi Note 8 smartphones will be receiving the MIUI 12 software update within the next few months. According to a well-known tipster, the Redmi Note 8 Pro could receive MIUI 12 by July with the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T getting the update shortly afterwards, most likely in August.

The Snapdragon 855-powered Mi Mix 3 5G was launched about a year ago. Since then, it hasn't received a major OS update, and remains stuck on Android Pie with no hope for a change of status anytime soon. Some 2020 LG TVs have less than full-speed HDMI 2.1 ports, and apparently that's okay

A Forbes contributor has highlighted an issue in which some 2020 OLED 4K TVs from LG were found to lack the "full" HDMI 2.1 standard. This means that the devices' ports cannot transmit data at their highest possible speed of 48 gigabits per second (Gb/s). However, the OEM asserts that this is not a problem.

A few weeks ago, new information surfaced claiming the Redmi Note 7 would receive the Android 10 update in the first half of May. We're already in May, however, and a new statement from a similar source has now indicated that Redmi Note 7 owners may have to while a while longer; perhaps till the MIUI 12 rollout.

Xiaomi may have patented a breakthrough in its under-display camera-phone tech

Xiaomi has reportedly filed a new patent for smartphone displays with under-display selfie cameras. This one depicts them as part of a triple-camera phone, which suggests this tech is closer to real-world use at this point. In addition, the new sensors in question appear better integrated into the rest of the device compared to the OEM's last known IP on this subject.
