Razer THX Spatial Audio is a Windows 10 app that, according to its developers, improves surround and 3D effects within the audio tracks in question. It offers support for 7.1 surround sound and is rated to work with most USB, Bluetooth or 3.5mm jack headsets. It also now has new Spatial Audio Game Profiles.
They are a new range of potential enhancements split into 2 modes: THX Environmental Mode and THX Competitive Mode. The former focuses on immersion and true-to-life audio, whereas the latter is geared more toward improved spatial awareness and of moving objects or targets in the vicinity.
These new capabilities can be accessed by downloading the app onto a Windows PC and applying it to the desired headset. Alternatively, THX Spatial Audio comes as part of the Razer Synapse interface installed when a relevant Razer product (from the Kraken series of headsets to the new BlackShark V2) is connected to an owner's machine. Therefore, the new update should appear on either of these dashboards.
Spatial Audio Game Profiles are currently compatible with 18 popular titles that include Apex Legends; various Call of Duty-series games; Destiny 2; Half Life: Alyx; Final Fantasy XIV; Resident Evil 2 and Battlefield I. However, further games may also be added to this list over time.
