Early last week, Xiaomi started rolling out the global MIUI 12 update to the Redmi Note 9. That rollout has now been expanded to include the European branch of the phone, which means Redmi Note 9 owners running the EU software should now be receiving the MIUI 12 update.
This new update bears the software build number "MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJOEUXM", denoting that it's for the EU model of the device. As with the global update that began last week, this is a beta stable build, which means it will seed to a batch of randomly selected Redmi Note 9 owners, before moving on to a full public release as long as there are no major bugs. The update brings MIUI 12, and weighs in at 538 MB.
While Redmi Note 9 owners are enjoying the latest version of Xiaomi's software, the more expensive Redmi Note 9 Pro remains on MIUI 11. The phone was recently visited by the July patch—a MIUI 11 build, sadly—but should be drawing closer to a MIUI 12 beta release.
