Mi 10 Pro+: Leaked features show a flagship designed to lock horns with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
It's no secret at this point that Xiaomi is poised to launch a new flagship this month. The flagship phone will be branded as the Mi 10 Pro+, or Super Cup depending on who you ask, and could very well be unveiled on August 11.
The Mi 10 Pro+ is expected to offer a number of improvements over the Mi 10 Pro that was released earlier in the year. One of those improvements will be a more powerful telephoto camera, apparently. According to Digital Chat Station, the Mi 10 Pro+ will sport a periscope telephoto lens.
The Mi 10 Pro uses a regular 94mm equivalent lens which translates into about 3.5x zoom. A periscope lens on the Mi 10 Pro+ will likely see optical zoom bumped up to over 4x. Supposedly, the sensor itself is the 8 MP Sony IMX520, with a physical sensor size of 1/3.6" and a pixel size of 1.22μm. That, coupled with the lens, will see the Mi 10 Pro+ put up a fight against the Huawei P40 Pro and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in terms of zoom capabilities.
The Mi 10 Pro+ will also offer better video recording: 10bit HDR10 at a resolution of up to 8K. This is in addition to the phone's impressive 120 Hz OLED display. Sadly, though, while the display refresh rate sees a jump from 90 Hz to 120 Hz, battery capacity remains the same as the Mi 10 Pro at 4500 mAh.
However, it will offer fast charging—wired should be improved to 60 W, or 65W as we just saw on the Black Shark 3, with wireless fast-charging said to be best in class. That implies it will match the 30 W wireless charging on the OnePlus 8 Pro at least.
