According to Redmi product director Wang Teng, Xiaomi is currently working on a new Mi 10 flagship phone. The phone is expected to be the Mi 10 Pro+, going by recent rumors, and could very well break the US$1000 MSRP mark.

Over the past few weeks, reports of an upcoming Xiaomi flagship phone have surfaced—an Mi 10 Pro+ that will sit at the very top of Xiaomi's smartphone hierarchy. New information further corroborates the imminent release of such a phone, and teases its pricing.

According to Gizchina, when quizzed on Weibo about Xiaomi's plans for a new Mi 10 flagship, Redmi product director Wang Teng clarified that such a phone is, indeed, in the works. He also went out to tease that fans of the company should prepare their wallets for the phone. While there's no specific mention of the Mi 10 Pro+, it stands to reason that it's the phone in question.

Going by previously leaked information, the Mi 10 Pro+ will be powered by a Snapdragon 865, although a Snapdragon 865 Plus may be a possibility now. It will also sport a 120 Hz display, an upgrade on the 90 Hz display on the regular Mi 10 Pro. Zoom may also see a bump up to 12x hybrid zoom, and fast-charging may be raised from 50 W to 65 W.

The top-spec Mi 10 Pro costs an equivalent of US$860 in China, and the Mi 10 Pro+ will likely carry an MSRP in the region. Prepare your wallets, indeed.
