Samsung has introduced its Galaxy Buds Live as TWS earbuds that do indeed match the extensive leak posted earlier by Winfuture. This article outlined their novel form-factor, advanced features and ANC functionality. However, its renders somehow did not fully prepare the world for just how shiny the outer faces of these new accessories have become.
This shell contains touch-sensitive control areas, which can be mapped so as to sync directly with Spotify for music controls. Samsung claims the new shape they contribute to has been designed for an "All-day Comfort Fit". The OEM also describes them as the Galaxy Buds series' first open variant.
This is because one of the ports found on the external face of each TWS earbud is a "Bass Duct", which lets air in to help enhance the frequencies in question. Along with drivers that are 12 millimeters (mm) in diameter and AKG's "highest level" of certification, Samsung asserts they are ready for high-quality audio enjoyment.
The Buds Live owe their ANC property to 2 more external mics, as well as 1 internal one. Their maker claims that this leads to a reduction in "low-band noise" of as much as 97%. The peripherals also have a "Voice Pickup Unit" for calls (and possibly smart assistants). They also support an audio-sharing feature called Buds Together, by which 2 pairs of them can stream the audio from the same mobile device.
The new Galaxy Buds are rated for up to 6 hours of battery life, or 21 with their redesigned charging case. They are to become available from August 6, 2020 in Mystic White, Mystic Black or Mystic Bronze shades, and have a recommended price of US$169.
