Skullcandy released AirPod clones called Indy in 2019. Now, they are back with ANC in this new generation. Their maker has also combined this spec with the Personal Sound audio-optimizer it developed with Audiodo, as well as an Ambient Mode that serves as an equivalent to Transparency in their original Apple inspirations.
These features are also found in the new versions of the Hesh headphones. These accessories also have 40 millimeter (mm) drivers. The Hesh and Indy ANCs also have inbuilt Tile modules to help locate them if they go missing.
The new Skullcandy headphones are rated for 22 hours of battery life, whereas the OEM claims that the Indys might last for a total of 32 hours (up to 9 stored in the TWS earbuds themselves and 23 from their wireless-charging case, although these numbers drop to 5 and 14 respectively with ANC on).
The Indy and Hesh ANCs are priced at US$129.99 each, and will become available on Skullcandy's website or from select retailers from November 15, 2020. However, consumers looking to spend less on new wireless headphones could look at the Hesh Evos instead.
They are as Tile-enabled and flat-folding as their ANC counterparts, but merely have a "noise-isolating fit" and are rated for 36 hours of battery life. Those new variants will be $99.99 on their own November 15 release.
