Skullcandy has just expanded its line of headphones with new sets specifically aimed at gamers. They include the new wireless PLYR headset and the wired SLYR PRO, with battery power that partially acts to power a feature rated to test the user's hearing to optimize their output. The accessories are joined by the more affordable new SLYR option with a core selection of its series' specs.

Skullcandy's headphones are most often pitched at music lovers; however, with their wild "Digi-Hype" colorways, detachable boom mics and easy-access "on-board" physical controls, its latest accessories are clearly aimed at gamers. Accordingly, all 3 new headsets are equipped with "head-conforming, memory-foam ear cushions" and "moisture wicking, breathable" exteriors.

The new SLYR is the cheapest of Skullcandy's new foray into gaming hardware. It is as cross-platform as its more premium sibling, and features its OEM's "Supreme Sound" technology. Its PRO sibling improves on these specs with a mic that is enhanced with Skullcandy's AI-powered Clear Voice Smart Mic tech rather than merely bidirectional.

It also features a "Skull-HQ" UI (for PC only) as well as Enhanced Sound Perception, which, according to the OEM, can specifically tailor the headset to each user's "unique hearing needs".

The Skullcandy PLYR also boasts all these features, as well as the same integrated Tile function for improved loss-prevention and estimated battery life (which the SLYR PRO apparently needs to deliver all its proprietary features). However, it is the only wireless headset of the OEM's new gaming line-up, with Bluetooth 5.2 for this purpose.

It is priced at US$129.99, whereas the SLYR PRO is set at US$99.99 and the base-model SLYR at $40 less than that. Skullcandy's new gaming headsets are available through channels such as Amazon from now.
